Once a director's resignation (TM01) has been filed and accepted by Companies House, the date can't simply be edited in Inform Direct — it has to be corrected directly with Companies House.
- TM01 is a paper-only correction — it's not one of the forms Companies House allows to be corrected online via WebFiling. You'll need to submit a paper RP01 form attached to a corrected replacement TM01, along with supporting evidence of the correct date (e.g. board minutes recording the actual resignation date) and a covering letter.
- Companies House will amend their register accordingly; Inform Direct will then reflect the corrected date once it next syncs with Companies House.
- There is no self-service "edit" for a filed TM01 date within Inform Direct itself — Inform Direct doesn't generate or submit the RP01 for you.
Professional advice note: if the incorrect resignation date has knock-on effects (for example, on confirmation statement accuracy, or on whether the director was validly acting during the disputed period), take advice on the correct approach before contacting Companies House.
