When you make a change to a company on Inform Direct, we automatically check whether it also needs to be notified to Companies House. Where possible, Inform Direct lets you submit that filing electronically yourself, directly within the platform.
Where a Companies House form can be filed electronically, you can complete and submit it yourself through Inform Direct, which sends it (along with any necessary supporting information) directly to Companies House using their electronic interchange system. If you file a form electronically through Inform Direct, you won’t need a copy of the official Companies House form itself – there is nothing to print, sign or post, because nothing on paper is ever produced or required.
However, some Companies House forms cannot currently be filed electronically by any software provider, including Inform Direct. In these cases, Inform Direct pre-populates the relevant official Companies House form (and any supporting documentation) as a PDF, ready for you to sign. You then need to print it, sign it and post it to Companies House yourself – or, for some share forms, upload it using the Companies House Upload Service (see the note below).
The tables below list every current Companies House form, by category, and confirm: whether you can file it electronically yourself through Inform Direct; whether Inform Direct instead produces a paper (PDF) form for you to sign and send; or whether the form isn’t currently produced by Inform Direct at all.
Note: Companies House’s ‘Upload Service’ lets you submit some paper forms online instead of by post – predominantly share forms. This is a Companies House service, separate from Inform Direct’s own electronic filing. For more information see What forms can be uploaded to Companies House?
1. Forms you can file electronically through Inform Direct – no Companies House form is needed
For all of the forms below, you complete and submit the filing yourself through Inform Direct, which sends it directly to Companies House. You will never need the official Companies House form itself.

Companies House does not currently accept these forms electronically from any software provider, including Inform Direct. For each of the forms below, Inform Direct pre-populates the official Companies House PDF form (and any accompanying documents, such as minutes) for you to sign and post – or, where noted, upload via the Companies House Upload Service instead of posting.
