Every month we receive a report from Companies House (as will all other Software providers) detailing how many submissions we have made; how many were successful; how many failed (not many) and how we compare to all the other providers taken together.

These are important metrics particularly regarding failures since a failed submission is costly to the user since it will require some investigation and like as not resubmission as well as being potentially embarrassing.  Clearly the fewer the failures the better.

As well as being a delight to use Inform Direct will minimise the likelihood of any submission being failed.

These figures for allotments, confirmation statements, appointments and terminations from November 2019 attest:

Confirmation Statements (CS01)

62,026 CS01s were sent to Companies House by all software filers.  Of these Inform Direct filed 7,208 meaning 54,818 were filed using other software.

Only 43 CS01s filed using Inform Direct were rejected. So 1,101 of the 1,144 overall rejections were by other software.

What this means is:

• 99.4% (7,165/7,208) of all CS01s filed using Inform Direct were successful - or a rejection rate of just 0.6%
• Whereas users of other software collectively suffered a rejection rate of 2% (1,101/54,818)

Appointments (AP01)

7,219 AP01s were sent to Companies House by all software filers.  Of these Inform Direct filed 866 meaning 6,353 were filed using other software.

Only 3 AP01s filed using Inform Direct were rejected. So 209 of the 212 overall rejections were by other software.

What this means is:

• 99.6% (863/866) of all AP01s filed using Inform Direct were successful - or a rejection rate of just 0.4%
• Whereas users of other software collectively suffered a rejection rate of 3.2% (209/6,353)

Allotments (SH01) and Terminations (TM01)

Only 2 SH01s and 2 TM01s filed using Inform Direct were rejected. 

Summary

Do not underestimate the hidden cost of using inferior software.

Confirmation Statements 99.4% success rate c.f. 98% taken across all other software.

Appointments 99.6% success rate c.f. 96.8% taken across all other software.

In short: Not all company secretarial software is the same.
