Background
Companies House has introduced new identity verification requirements for certain positions within companies to enhance transparency and security. The main focus of identity verification is on directors and People with Significant Control (PSCs).
Who Must Complete Identity Verification?
- Individual Directors: All individual directors of UK companies must complete identity verification.
- Individual PSCs: Anyone who meets the criteria to be a Person with Significant Control must also complete identity verification.
- Individual LLP Members
Company Secretaries
- Individual Secretaries: Identity verification is not required for individual company secretaries; they do not need a personal code.
- Corporate Secretaries: Similarly, corporate secretarial entities do not need to complete identity verification.
Corporate directors, PSCs or members do not need to complete ID verification.
