Can I Undo or Revert Changes in Inform Direct?
- Most changes made in Inform Direct cannot simply be undone with an “undo” button. This is especially the case if a submission has already been sent to Companies House.
After Submission to Companies House
- Once a filing has been submitted to Companies House, you cannot cancel, edit, or revert it directly within Inform Direct.
-
To correct or remove something already filed at Companies House:
- For certain errors, Companies House allows you to submit a “second filing” for eligible forms such as via the RP01 form.
- The RP08 form can be used to apply to the Registrar to remove material that was incorrectly placed on the public register—this can apply where the material should not have been registered, for example, because it is factually incorrect or was submitted fraudulently.
- For further advice on post-submission correction or removal, see Can I Cancel a Submission After I Have Actioned It?
Undoing Unsubmitted Changes
If you haven’t submitted a change to Companies House yet:
You may be able to delete or abandon the draft transaction before you complete and submit it.
For share transfers and similar transactions:
- If you have entered a share transfer but have not yet filed the Confirmation Statement or associated forms with Companies House, you can simply delete or edit the transaction in Inform Direct.
- If a share transfer has already been filed at Companies House, you can remove it but you will stil need to correct the CS01 filing with the RP01 form on WebFiling or on paper.
If you have completed actions such as generating, but not filing, forms like SH02, SH03, etc.:
- If you have not filed anything at Companies House, removing the company from your Inform Direct portfolio and then re-importing it will reverse any actions or transactions created in Inform Direct but not submitted—this will restore your company record to what currently appears at Companies House.
