You can ask Companies House to remove personal details from the public register and withhold your address from credit reference agencies, in certain circumstances. This cannot be actione via Inform Direct.
How to apply directly with Companies House
It costs £34 to remove your personal details from each document. You’ll need to pay for each document listed in your application.

The form has full instructions on how to send your application and how to pay the fee.
You must pay the correct fee and include supporting evidence (if needed), or we’ll reject your application.
Apply as an individual for a UK company
You can apply to remove:
- your home address
- the day of your date of birth (for documents filed before 10 October 2015)
- your signature
- your business occupation
Complete an application form – Apply to remove your personal details from the Companies House register (SR01).
Apply as a company, or as a person who registers a charge
You can only apply if the company’s activities mean the person, or anyone else at the address, is at risk of serious violence or intimidation. For example, if the company is involved in a certain sector of business.
Request a form SR02 or SR03 by email – dsr@companieshouse.gov.uk.
Companies House will advise you about the process and send you the correct form. Companies House will only accept the original forms on the coloured paper.
If you’re applying as a company or person who registers a charge, you must also send a statement to explain the grounds for applying.
You should also include either:
- evidence to support the statement
- a copy of the court order – if the court has made an order under section 117(3)
