In the event an allotment is completed with an incorrect date or amount paid, this can be updated within Inform Direct.
1. To access the transaction record, please go to the Shareholders or Share Classes tab and select View transactions.
This will open a list of all transactions since the company was added to Inform Direct, including the imported shareholdings.
Note: If you wish to amend the imported shareholdings see How do I edit the imported shareholdings?
2. Next to the allotment which you wish to amend, please click the yellow pencil option. This will allow you the options detailed below:
Edit date of allotment will open a summary of the current details with an editable date field.
Edit amount payable will also bring up a summary, but will have the amount paid field as an editable option. This will be the total amount paid for the transaction.
3. After clicking Next a summary of the details which you are changing will appear. There is a note included to suggest that where a change has taken place the second filing of the allotment with an RP04 is likely to be required.
4. Selecting Save changes will commit the action and return you to the Share transactions list with the corrected details.
Note: The company registers within Inform Direct will also be updated to match the amendment which has taken place.
Important: If a share allotment has already been filed at Companies House, you cannot simply edit or undo it. You may need to correct the filing using the second filing process. Please contact Companies House to confirm the correct procedure.
If the mistake was made during reconciliation and not filed, you can remove and reimport the company to reverse the allotment. You must ensure that you have saved the authentication code, personal codes and ID check documents before deleting a company from your portfolio.
In the event that you have a lot of history you do not wish to lose, please contact support via email and request that the allotment be removed. You must let us know the company name, number and clarify which allotment needs removing.
KNOWN LIMITATION: Special characters in overseas addresses
Inform Direct does not currently support special characters (accented letters such as ä, ü, é, ñ, ç) in shareholder address fields. If an overseas address contains these characters, substitute the nearest standard English equivalent (e.g. 'a' for 'ä').
