When creating a Share Certificate, Membership Certificate or a Dividend Voucher, Inform Direct will populate it with the shareholder contact address held for the shareholder or member.

To amend the shareholder contact address, follow the numbered steps below:

Note: Updating the shareholder contact address will not send a filing to Companies House, unlike the service address which it is often confused with. See Overview of Different Addresses

1. Go to the Shareholders tab (or Members tab). 

2. Select the yellow pencil next to the shareholder in question and then 'Edit personal details'.

3. Scroll down to the 'Shareholder contact address' field towards the bottom and select 'Find/enter address'. You can either select an existing address or enter a new address.

4. Then click the green, Continue button.

5. Inform Direct will identify whether the address which you are changing from is used elsewhere in your portfolio of companies. It will identify exact matches and similar address, if any are located it will allow you the chance to update them all in bulk. For full details, see How to change addresses in bulk

6. Inform Direct will then update the Contact Address for this shareholder within the software. Nothing will be sent to Companies House. 

Note: If you need to update the address shown on a share certificate in line with your change here, then this is easy to do.
