1. Review the Company Filing History
Start by reviewing the company’s filing history, which lists all documents submitted to Companies House, including appointments and notifications of Directors and PSCs.
- You can view the filing history directly in Inform Direct by following the steps here: How to view the company filing history.
2. How Directors are Appointed
- On Incorporation: Directors appointed at the time of company incorporation will appear on the incorporation documents.
- AP01 Form: Subsequent director appointments are made using the AP01 form.
3. How PSCs (Persons with Significant Control) are Appointed/Notified
- On Incorporation: PSCs may be recorded at the time of company formation.
- PSC01 Form: New PSC appointments are submitted to Companies House using the PSC01 form.
4. Special Note for Companies Incorporated Before 6th April 2016
- For companies formed before 6 April 2016, the PSC regulations only came into force on that date.
- If you cannot find a PSC01 appointment for a PSC, check the company’s confirmation statement (CS01). The initial notification of PSCs for older companies was included in the first CS01 filed after the rules began. This confirmation statement would have been filed in 2016.
