Subscribers to Inform Direct are able to generate reports.
You can generate reports that summarise data such as current addresses for companies, officers, and PSCs, including registered office, service, and residential addresses. If you wish to see a full list of the reports that are available, see: Details of all reporting.
Please note: For security reasons, you cannot export encrypted data in bulk from Inform Direct. This means reports cannot include Companies House personal codes, email addresses, or authentication codes. Personal codes will appear to show that you have the code recorded, but it will be masked.
To begin generating your own reports, first login to your account and click on the Documents & Reports button. On loading the documents & templates page, you will then need to click on the Reports button.
From the reports page you can then choose which report you would like to generate from the list, the list will look similar to the below.
Clicking on more details will show additional information about that report.
Selecting the pencil may give you two options depending on the report, ‘Generate report’ will generate the report with no date range. This will report on fully imported companies, and all companies incorporated using Inform Direct that are still in the portfolio, other than dissolved companies, and only companies the user has access to.
For all reports that the customise report option appears on, any user with access can decide to run the report for one or a selection of companies from a drop down.
On several reports users will also be able to set a date range
On most reports users will then also be able to include their custom fields they have set up for their portfolio. You can change the 'Your settings' to always include all custom fields in reports so that you just need to generate a report to include them.
When you click generate report the next window will show, the download will automatically start if not click the "click here" option
After opening the file you will be presented with a spreadsheet like the below.
Frequently Asked Questions
My custom fields (e.g. Manager, Partner, Client Code) aren't showing on a report I've generated — why not?
Custom fields are never included automatically — you need to customise the report to choose to include them each time you generate it, or set your account to always include all custom fields (see 'Your settings' above) so you don't need to remember to tick this each time. If a field still doesn't appear after doing this, check it's actually set up as a custom field on your portfolio (see How Do I Add New Custom Fields?) rather than a one-off note added to an individual company or person record.
How do I download a list of my clients by Manager (or Partner, Office, etc.)?
If Manager is set up as a custom field on your portfolio (see How Do I Add New Custom Fields?), you can include it in your reports. Go to Documents & Reports → Reports, choose a report such as Company Details, select Customise report, and choose to include your custom fields before you generate it. The Manager column will then appear in the downloaded spreadsheet, where you can sort or filter by it.
To include custom fields every time, tick Include all custom fields in reports in Your Settings.
