Every submission made to Companies House must include details of who is 'presenting' the document. This way, if there is ever any query about the document(s) that have been filed, Companies House will know who to contact.
Each presenter code is unique to a particular firm.
To date, anyone using Inform Direct software can either use their own Presenter Code or the Inform Direct Presenter Code.
We have written a note setting out the benefits to users of having their own presenter code.
What are the benefits of having our own presenter code?
If you don't have your own presenter code, you've been using the Inform Direct presenter code. For transactions that incur a Companies House fee (e.g., filing a confirmation statement), you've paid us the applicable fee, and we'll settle it with Companies House.
If you do not yet have your own presenter code it is easy to apply for one. Here is a link to the form. We would encourage you to do this.
We have decided that any account processing a transaction relating to a mortgage or legal charge should have its own presenter code. The reason being is that if there were any query e.g., from a mortgagee, we would prefer Companies House (and possibly the mortgagee) to deal directly with whoever filed the form.
The presenter code is linked to your Inform Direct account, not to individual users. All users on the same account can use the same presenter code to process mortgage or legal charge transactions. Individual users do not need their own separate presenter code.”
