It is easy to notify Companies House that there has been a change to the documents stored at the SAIL (Single Alternative Inspection Location) address.

To change the documents stored:
1) Go to the 'Company' tab and select the blue 'Update SAIL documents' button.

Note: If you instead wish to change the location of the SAIL address altogether then please see How Do I Change the SAIL Address? 

2) This will then list the 11 different record types and whether they are currently held at the SAIL address or not. 

You can make amendments to this by clicking the blue plus sign to notify Companies House that that record is now held at the SAIL address, or alternatively clicking the red minus sign to notify Companies House that that record is no longer held at the SAIL address, but at the Registered Office instead. 
 

When you are happy this screen correctly reflect the position, hit the green 'Continue' button.

3) You are now at the below screen which is a summary. 

Clicking on the red 'Submit SAIL Update' will send the information to Companies House electronically. on form(s) AD03 or AD04, depending on the changes made.

4) Finally, you have the option to generate any supporting documentation that you require. You will need to ensure you tick in the boxes alongside the document (if any) that you wish to produce.
