As an Administrator with a subscription you have a Global Settings function which allows you to determine, among other things, which emails other user types receive or whether they can choose this for themselves.
1. From the Users List Screen click on the blue 'Manage email settings' button.
How do I access Global settings?
2. You will then choose whether you would like to manage the settings for Managers or Practitioners.
Note: Administrators set their own email settings. How does an administrator set their email preferences?
If you want to manage the settings for both of the above, you will need to go through the process twice.
3. Then choose the types of email the selected user type should receive and when or give them the option to choose.
Please note: The timing of reminder emails is set by the system and cannot be changed.
4. Click the green 'Save' button. The Manager/Practitioner users will then be able to adjust their settings accordingly by opening the Account menu at the top of the screen and selecting Profile when next logged in.
Will I get an email notification when a director or PSC is added to a company?
If the appointment is filed through Inform Direct, yes: you'll receive an email once Companies House accepts the filing, provided you haven't turned that notification off in your own email settings.
If the appointment was made directly with Companies House outside Inform Direct, and only appears because Inform Direct later syncs with the Companies House register, no notification is sent for that change, as it wasn't a filing made through the software.
I receive all my other notifications but not a specific one, such as a company status change (e.g. "Active - proposal to strike off"), why?
This is usually unrelated to the settings above: certain Companies House status-change emails are only sent to users ticked as a Principal contact for the account, regardless of your other email preferences. See What is a Principal contact? to check and update this.
