Inform Direct completes regular syncs with Companies House to ensure the information remains up to date. As part of these syncs, there may be occasions where inconsistencies are identified.
For further details on syncing discrepancies see Why do I have a data discrepancy alert?
Residential address mismatches will only apply to individuals who are an officer and PSC in the same company.
Inform Direct merges records of individuals when importing a company or appointing somebody who already has another role within the company. This is to indicate it is the same individual which holds multiple roles within that company, such as Director & PSC.
In cases that an officer and PSC have different residential addresses recorded, a discrepancy will show under Alerts & Notifications on the Dashboard tab of a company. It will also prompt a Check alert to appear on the portfolio screen.

View and resolve (recommended):
Resolving the issue will enable you to correct the data at Companies House to ensure the discrepancy is resolved.
You will be presented with both addresses currently listed for the individual with an option to select which is correct.
Once the correct address has been selected, the date of change can be entered.
A summary screen will then confirm the change which will be submitted to Companies House.
In the example below, the correct address was the one held by the officer. The update is therefore being made to the PSC residential address, to update it to match the officer information.
Ignore and remove:
This will immediately remove the notification. Please note that there is not a confirmation screen when removing the alert, it will immediately be deleted.
A different address showing on the PSCs tab compared with the Confirmation Statement?
This is a separate situation from the sync discrepancy described above, and is one of the most common causes of an address "not matching" that we see: an unconfirmed pending change.
When you edit a PSC's or director's residential address in Inform Direct, the edit screen includes a field asking "Has the individual confirmed the changes and all previously unconfirmed changes?" This must be ticked, with a date, before the address update is actually submitted to Companies House.
If this box isn't ticked at the time, the new address is saved within Inform Direct (so it shows correctly on the PSCs or Officers tab) but is never sent to Companies House. Anywhere that reflects the confirmed, filed record — including the PSC details shown when you click through on the Confirmation Statement — will therefore keep showing the old address until the change is properly submitted.
To resolve this: go back to the individual's record, edit their personal details again, tick the confirmation box (entering the date the change was confirmed), and submit. Once Companies House has accepted the submission, the address will show consistently everywhere, including on the Confirmation Statement.
You can check whether a previous address change was actually sent by looking at the company's Recent Activity — an unconfirmed change will show there as outstanding rather than complete.
