Filing a confirmation statement is an essential part of company compliance, but sometimes submissions to Companies House can be rejected. If you’ve paid a filing fee through Inform Direct and your confirmation statement is rejected, you may wonder what happens to your payment.
Automatic Refunds for Rejected Filings
If you made a payment to Inform Direct for a filing and the submission is rejected by Companies House, don’t worry - Inform Direct will automatically issue a refund for the Companies House fee. There’s no need to request this manually; the refund will be processed back to your original payment method.
Using Your Own Presenter Code
If you file using your own Companies House presenter code, Inform Direct does not charge you a filing fee. In this case, you won’t see any charge from Inform Direct, regardless of whether the filing is accepted or rejected. - Here, Companies House only charges your presenter account for accepted submissions.
What to Do Next
If you need to resubmit after a rejection, simply follow the filing process again. If a fee is required for the new submission, you’ll be prompted to pay at that time.
You can always check your payment and refund status within your Inform Direct account. You will find a credit note under the invoices section of your account. If you have any questions or concerns about payments or refunds, our support team is here to help.
